It’s Fall, Y’all
With each passing day, we are settling into our Autumn routine a little more. The school year has begun and a new sport and lots of exciting dates dot the family calendar. October marks an exciting season of the holidays beginning, birthdays, and family visits on the horizon! So what’s been going on…
RJ broke his first window while practicing his golf swing, and learned a lesson in how much it costs to fix it… He chopped and made bundles of kindling to sell to neighbors on the block and down at the nearby grocery store.
Notable mentions:
We went to the dentist here for the time and that was an… experience…
September was an incredible month of weather! If you ever want to travel to the island, September is where it’s at.
Jeremy’s parents come for two weeks and we can’t wait to hug them!! Our first time seeing them since we left 🥲
The kids are enjoying their new school year so far. Officially returning as not being the new kids is their favorite aspect. We see their confidence grow a bit more all the time with finding their place.
RJ is loving his new football team! It’s a good introduction for him with not a lot of commitment since he’s just starting out - he just discovered his love for it when we moved. He’s been enjoying learning his new skill, understanding the game better, and what it looks like to play a proper match. Jeremy and him can spend hours out in the garden running drills and he never tires of it. For his 10th birthday party this month, he’s even asked to play a football match with all his friends! That will be an exciting evening celebrating him in a couple weeks.
Emery is enjoying learning gymnastic tricks from all her friends during school and has acquired a new accessory - some cute glasses! She’s convinced they don’t help her at all but her double astigmatism would say otherwise lol. She’s so excited to have a real life baby to take care of soon and constantly practices real life scenarios of what she’ll need to do when they arrive. I’ve fully come to the conclusion that this is Emery’s baby and I’m just the surrogate at this point 😅
Speaking of baby… We are in the home stretch of this pregnancy! I feel like it really has flown by and am still in shock we’re officially 35 weeks. But then my body quickly reminds how far along we are… I just have to make it at least 3 more weeks for me to be able to deliver at home, which has always been a dream of mine. Especially now because the drive to the hospital is over an hour long and I do not want to have to drive on these windy, tiny, bumpy roads while in labor! And while we’re at it - if anyone has any good names for baby number three, please share… I feel like we’ve gone through all the options out there and we’re still coming up empty handed.
There’s still lots to prepare for baby and one of those things is acquiring the necessities. Since our last baby was over 7 years ago and we’ve moved internationally, getting rid of all our belongings, we are starting from scratch… If you’d like to bless us and new baby Kastle, this is the link to our registry. Note for our stateside friends: These websites for purchasing gifts are mainly UK based, which is good news for you, in the fact you won't have to worry about international shipping costs BUT some of them will not accept US cards. What I've found is that the websites that offer payment options through ApplePay/Google Pay, PayPal, ShopPay, or other alternative payment options seem to work no problem for US cards. You'll be able to find our shipping details on the baby registry. If this is too fussy for you, there is also a cash fund option as well, and you can also find those details on the registry. Info for both domestic (UK friends) and international transfers (US friends/other) are available. There will be a currency exchange incurred on international transfers, of course. If you have any questions or need help, feel free to message us.
Emery’s new glasses!
Youth group at St. Donard’s has officially kicked off! Jeremy has put together a team of 6 leaders to help support the ministry and they are ready to dive into ministry with our youth. They’ve been blessed by RIOT House, just up the road from the church, to use their facilities to gather every week. The spiritual excitement he has for the potential of St. Donard’s youth group is really igniting the fire in him. We’re looking forward to what the Lord has in store for it.
Jeremy has also had the privilege of being able to share a sermon from the pulpit again. The opportunity to share the Word of God again is a wonderful pressure for him and one he does not take lightly. He treats every opportunity as a new chance to grow as a speaker, and deepen his understanding of the Word. Each time he’s given the chance to speak to a group, whether on a Sunday morning, Youth group setting or something else, his love for sharing the Bible’s teachings grow.
RIOT House has quickly become a place Jeremy and RJ both enjoy spending their time (Emery loves being there also even though technically she’s not supposed to be…) RJ loves it as a space for him and his friends to hang out outside of school and church and have a good time. Jeremy loves it as a space to connect with other adults serving in the area that isn’t directly tied to our church. It gives him more exposure to other areas of ministry at play in the surrounding towns/villages around us. He always comes back with a story or interaction leaving him encouraged in some new way. In a couple weeks, he’s offered to serve for the entire week with RIOT, while they have an American team come to give a helping hand. The days will be long for him but I know he’s looking forward to seeing in-depth all that will transpire that week.
Okay, I promise, this will be the last time you hear from us until baby arrives! We’ll be enjoying our last few weeks just the four of us as we know it, and soaking up the two weeks of having grandparents here. So until next time…
Prayer Requests:
A healthy and problem-free delivery for Christa and baby
Visa & passport for new baby are also met without any issues, and these hefty fees will be provided for in due time.
Our single family car needs some work… prayer for provision in costs for it, and that it doesn’t betray us. One car for a family of 5 is not ideal but we make it work.
Youth group to be a place of blessed time together each week and that the teens are excited and want to bring their friends because it’s just THAT good!
