Friends,
The last couple months since our return have been a mix of up’s and down’s. I know we went radio silent after our trip and there were multiple times I tried to write an update that made sense but that’s the fun of following God’s plan - it’s hardly a linear journey! And so now, while we wait for some more solid info, I’ve decided to give you all a bit of context for the Irish people and some details about EdenGate. So get your notebooks ready!
As most of us know, historically Europe was a beacon of Christian faith. Presently, it has become one of the least reached continents for evangelical Christianity. Nestled at the western edge, Ireland’s lush green hills and warm culture mask a deep spiritual need.
The Republic of Ireland presents a unique challenge for gospel ministry. Unlike most of Europe, a protestant reformation was never experienced, leaving a convoluted religious heritage of culturally Catholic people but an increasingly secular environment. Shockingly, this is the least-reached English-speaking country globally with less than one percent of the population identifying evangelical. What is even more shocking is that their neighbors in Northern Ireland maintain one of the highest evangelical populations in the world! This blaring contrast, presenting the gospel is both complex and urgent.

With this glaring reality, EdenGate and its charity, Patrons International, established 11 years ago with a vision to meet this challenge by blending business and mission. This unique approach, through the lens of travel and tourism, makes supporting gospel ministry across Europe accessible. The dual model makes it possible to collaboratively work with denominational and gospel leaders at national levels, while also creating sustainable models for ministry support. EdenGate’s work is part of a larger ecosystem of businesses and ministries supporting gospel work primarily in Ireland, but also across Europe and the Middle East.
So where do we fit into this puzzle?
Great question; I’d love to tell ya!! We have been accepted to work with EdenGate and Patron’s International, with Jeremy supplying, his technical expertise and I will be utilizing my work with photography and experience with customer support and events. These job opportunities grant us full-time work visas - PRAISE GOD!! This has easily been our biggest hurdle in this entire process. Alongside our super professional, big grown up jobs, we will have the opportunity to be apart of the following ministries:
Church revitalization and replanting initiatives
Supporting EdenGate's pastoral care of pastors
Contributing to EdenGate's broader mission of facilitating church planting through business as mission
And now, your vital role comes into play. We have the incredible privilege of asking you to be apart of what is happening in Ireland. What does that look like?
Prayer Partnership: We invite you to pray for Ireland and the work at hand. We also ask for prayer for our family during this transitional and waiting period. Prayer is not a small act, you can never have enough, and it’s always needed.
Financial Support: We ask you to prayerfully consider supporting us and our work through regular or one-time gifts. There is need for initial sending costs which are $$$$, as well as monthly support needs. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
Experience Ireland!: Let EdenGate's team arrange a visit for you, your family, or your church group to experience firsthand the spiritual need and ministry opportunities in Ireland and Europe. They can create customized itineraries that combine experiencing the beauty of these nations while learning about their gospel needs and ongoing ministry work. Plus, you get to see us! A win-win really. ;)
Job Opportunity: We could be co-workers! Learn more about how your skills or business experience could support gospel work in Ireland and across Europe. EdenGate aims to expand its business-as-mission team and is actively looking for others to join it, specifically those with marketing and social media skills. Would you consider joining the team in Ireland or sharing this opportunity with others?
Whether through prayer, financial support, or experiencing the work firsthand through an EdenGate-arranged visit, your partnership can bring hope and transformation to Ireland. We are humbled at the thought of further bringing the Kingdom alongside you all.
And now as a reward of sorts for getting through that hefty update, some photos from our trip!! Enjoy!
